Dr. Brent Stucker is Chief Technology Officer for Additive Manufacturing at 3D Systems. He joined the company in September 2021 as Senior Vice President and Chief Scientist.
In his role as Chief Technology Officer, Brent is responsible for the scientific direction of the company’s underlying hardware, materials, and software comprising our additive solutions.
Brent is an industry expert and researcher with more than 30 years of experience. Prior to joining 3D Systems, Brent served as Director of Additive Manufacturing and Distinguished Engineer for Ansys. Brent also is the co-founder and former CEO of 3DSIM as well as the founding chairman and now board member of ASTM International Committee F42 on Additive Manufacturing Technologies. From 1997-2015, Brent served as a professor with various appointments at universities both in the United States and globally.
He has received numerous industry awards of high recognition, holds many patents, and has authored and co-authored more than 200 technical publications on additive manufacturing. Most notably, Brent is the co-author of a leading textbook, Additive Manufacturing Technologies, which is used by industry practitioners and universities.
Brent received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, both in
Mechanical Engineering.
